Clinical Duties:
- Patient evaluation and diagnosis: Assess fertility potential, diagnose infertility causes, and develop personalised treatment plans.
- Ovulation induction and monitoring: Administer medications to stimulate ovulation and monitor follicular development.
- Sperm analysis and preparation: Analyse sperm quality and prepare sperm for assisted reproductive techniques (ART) procedures.
- In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedures: Perform egg retrieval, sperm retrieval, fertilization techniques (ICSI, PICSI), embryo culture, and embryo transfer.
- Other ART procedures: Offer additional services like assisted hatching, blastocyst transfer, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), and cryopreservation of embryos or oocytes, depending on expertise and hospital capabilities.
- Management of high-risk cases: Manage complex cases involving advanced maternal age, recurrent implantation failure, or other contributing factors.
- Pre-implantation genetic screening/diagnosis (PGS/PGD): If available, highlight expertise in selecting healthy embryos for implantation based on genetic analysis.
- Counselling and patient support: Provide comprehensive counselling and support to patients throughout the IVF journey, addressing emotional and psychological needs.
- Collaboration with other specialists: Work closely with embryologists, urologists, geneticists, and other specialists to ensure optimal patient care.
Additional Duties:
- Research and innovation: Engage in research activities to improve treatment outcomes and contribute to the advancement of reproductive medicine in Saudi Arabia.
- Teaching and training: Train and mentor residents, fellows, and embryologists in the field of IVF.
- Participation in multidisciplinary teams: Participate in departmental committees and contribute to clinical governance activities.
- Quality assurance and improvement: Participate in quality assurance programs and strive to continuously improve IVF services.
- Outreach and public education: Provide public education about infertility and IVF treatment options.
We envision a candidate who:
- Possesses a CCT/CCST qualification or its equivalent in Reproductive Medicine and Embryology from Europe, the USA, or Canada.
- Holds a minimum of 3-5 years' post-qualification experience in a Consultant role within an IVF setting.
- Demonstrates exceptional clinical skills, a patient-centred approach, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Has strong communication and collaboration skills, fostering trust and building rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Embraces cultural sensitivity and adaptability, eager to learn and contribute to a diverse healthcare system.
