My client is seeking a Linux Admin Lead to join their team in Chennai. The Systems Administrator supports and improves all systems in an evolving and dynamic, multi-site environment.  The position supports a $500M+ e-commerce website and associated back-end systems running the hottest e-commerce platform currently on the US market.

This individual may be required to provide input to or participate in various projects and will perform other duties as requested.

What you’ll do (Duties)

Job Details:

Enterprise systems setup, maintenance, and support at multiple locations and within the cloud

Monitor and improve systems to meet established SLA’s(service-level agreement ), provide guidance on needs for improvement

Automate, analyze and report on error and performance logs

Support of DevOps based environment, enabling self-service to other teams

Maintain security and best practices compliance on systems and environment

Assist in software deployments and monitor changes in established performance baselines

Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance the environment.

Key Qualifications:

Excellent team skills as well as written and verbal communications

24/7 On-Call availability for service outages (currently running at 99.994% system uptime)

Strong knowledge of Linux (Red Hat derivatives preferred), Java, and security is required.

Strong knowledge of VMware vCenter 5.X operations and support

Knowledge of NFS and file system/database clustering

Knowledge of NAS/SAN systems, preferably NetApp

Knowledge of load balancing concepts and solutions, such as F5 LTM

Familiarity with Tomcat and Java tuning

Familiarity with x86 based hardware

Familiarity in a DevOps environment

Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and support

Self-motivated with attention to detail and a desire to explore and master new emerging technologies

Education & Experience:

6 plus years of experience in systems administration (Linux)

Experience in e-commerce operations is strongly preferred. Experience in a hosting environment with high uptime required.

Working experience with cloud-based offerings, such as AWS.
