Title: L3 Linux Developer
Location: Bangalore (Hybrid)
Skils: Troubleshooting, bugfixing, Linux kernel, GDB, Strace.
Key responsibilities:
As a Junior L3 Linux developer, you are responsible for:
- Evaluating and reproducing reported problem scenarios and code defects
- Coordination of, and active involvement in, the bug-fixing process
- Technical analysis of issues and bugs in Linux-based software products (both kernel and/or user space)
- Fixing code defects and publishing patches
- Backporting fixes and other defects, and helping maintain legacy code streams
- Contribute to the future development of the software infrastructure driving the daily work of the team
What you bring to the team:
We have been there, and we do understand as a Junior Linux Developer, you cannot have years of in-depth experience facing the most critical issues. So having the right mindset and attitude to develop yourself is equally important to us. It would be great if you can already bring some or more of the following with you while we train you further in your continuous thirst for knowledge and personal growth:
- Friendliness and assertiveness
- Good spoken and written knowledge of English
- Good understanding of the Linux operating system
- The ability to organize yourself, and work with minimal supervision
- A pragmatic approach to handling new challenges
- Knowledge of the C programming language
- A natural curiosity in learning new components & technologies.
- Experience with SUSE Linux, openSUSE or other Linux distributions
- User experience with containerization
Nice to have skills:
We consider it to be a big plus in your application when you already have some of the following as your skills:
- Knowledge of other programming languages, e.g., C++, Perl, Python, Bash, ...
- Intermediate knowledge of networking
- Intermediate knowledge of virtualization technologies
- Understanding of the fundamentals of containerization (cgroups, namespaces, virtual networking...)
- User experience in Cloud computing environments
- Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills
- General understanding of hardware architecture & concepts and their relation to the Operating System
