Marketing Director Europe - Oncology
Overview:
On behalf of our client, a pharma-biotech company developing innovative oncology medicines, we are hiring a Marketing Director Europe, Solid Tumors.
General Description:
The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the European commercialization strategy for the launch of the Company oncology products across European markets. This position involves close collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including Market Access, Sales, Commercial Operations, Business Analytics, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Clinical Development, Legal, and Compliance. The Director will oversee European marketing strategies and activities during approval timelines, at approval, and post-launch across pipeline/portfolio assets in Europe.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Provide commercial input and support for Company solid tumor pipeline and/or future marketed molecules outside of China.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to provide European commercial input, support, and assessments to aid commercialization initiatives for the solid tumor pipeline.
- Represent and advocate for commercial needs on Global Brand Teams (GBTs) as required.
- Lead the development of clear, actionable, and differentiated marketing strategies and assist in crafting cross-functional strategic and tactical plans to facilitate the European commercialization of the Company’s oncology portfolio in solid tumors.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to lead and align on commercial strategy, brand and franchise priorities, brand vision, brand positioning, and disease/unmet need campaigns.
- Work with consulting agencies for assigned molecules, participate in and lead agency consulting selection and contracting processes as necessary. Manage budgets for assigned vendors.
- Partner with Business Analytics on the development and delivery of market insights and KPIs to inform and measure commercial strategies, tactics, and product forecasts.
- Ensure that product approval timelines are frequently updated and communicated throughout the organization.
- Lead cross-functional groups and workshops to develop long-term commercial strategy, brand/tactical plans, and marketing budgets.
- Responsible for developing key marketing deliverables (Launch Readiness Reviews (LRRs), brand plans, tactical plans, commercial assessments of market opportunities, etc.) and ensuring cross-functional organizational alignment.
- Provide commercial insights and support for portfolio planning activities for clinical and preclinical programs and direct appropriate market research for assigned assets as needed.
- Demonstrate marketing thought leadership and represent the Company at key meetings, conferences, and functions including KOL meetings and ad boards.
- Drive business results, culture, and people initiatives aligned with Corporate mission.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical industry marketing or related experience (including sales, finance, forecasting, KOL, medical and market research roles).
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a marketing leader in Oncology.
- Biotech or pharmaceutical US marketplace launch experience required.
- Global and/or international experience preferred.
- Preference for candidates with experience across big, mid-level, and small companies to offer relative contrast in business models and effective competition strategies based on company stage, marketplace, and industry environment.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead teams and make and stand by difficult decisions, with a focus on advancing/developing careers in the pharma/biotech industry.
- Highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders, scientific and commercial teams, and senior-level management.
- Negotiation skills are a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of commercial strategy, opportunity, and risks.
