Competencies, qualifications and skills:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
• Significant practical experience with underground mining methods.
• Short and long term mine planning skills. 
• Sound understanding of survey methods and good knowledge of underground mine ventilation and mine geology.
• Essential to the role is practical experience with Mine planning software.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to contribute and work effectively in a team.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Development of panel designs which optimise value and meet the long term mine plan.
• Mine services design including power, dewatering and ventilation.
• Compilation of Panel Note Commentaries.
• Delivery of development plans to meet mid-term scheduling requirements. 
• Optimisation of stope shapes and delivery of Stope Note Commentaries.
• Evaluation of mine design, sequencing and schedules to optimise plans and deliver improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with Operations, Geology, Metallurgy, Geotechnical and Mining Engineering team members to deliver safe and practical designs.  
• Communicate plans through close working relations with Operations.
