Clinical Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct meticulous evaluations of critically ill neonates admitted to the NICU, meticulously analysing laboratory and imaging data to reach accurate diagnoses of complex medical conditions prevalent in neonates.
• Evidence-Based Treatment and Management: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each neonate, encompassing ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, advanced medication administration, and specialized therapies like CPAP and phototherapy.
• Expertise in Specific Areas: Highlight experience in areas relevant to the region, such as:
  • Prematurity complications: Respiratory distress syndrome, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, intraventricular hemorrhage.
  • Neonatal infections: Sepsis, pneumonia, meningitis.
  • Congenital anomalies: Heart defects, gastrointestinal anomalies, neurological malformations.
• Collaboration with Specialists: Work closely with a team of neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists like paediatric surgeons, cardiologists, and neurologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Family Communication: Deliver complex medical information and prognoses to families with clarity, compassion, and cultural sensitivity, considering their emotional well-being throughout the process.
• Detailed Documentation and Quality Assurance: Maintain meticulous and detailed medical records, meticulously analyzing outcomes data and actively participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance NICU care.
