Our client, located in "Pays de la Loire" region, is a subsidiary (200 employees) of a fast-growing international group (18,000 employes), specialized in the formulation, production and packaging of skincare and make-up products. In a context of strong growth but also extremely high pressure due to economic and geopolitical uncertainties. our client is currently expanding and is looking to recruit an Operations & Site Director reporting to the Vice President Operations and Supply Chain - Europe
CHALLENGE:
To lead the site through cross functional teamworking to deliver a safe working environment, that has Safety & Quality at the center of everything we do, that has a robust a capital expenditure ethos, a culture of Operational Excellence / lean methodologies, delivering & exceeding the site P&L and EBITDA targets.

- Regular contact with Group peers.
- Customer contacts at different levels in packaging and quality fields – especially factory visits and trials.
- Regular contact with services and equipment suppliers – training services providers, equipment suppliers, site services suppliers etc.
- Main point of contact with regulatory authorities – local authorities, HSE, EA etc.
- Regular internal contact /site co—ordination/ alignment with all site personnel – Production; Engineering;
- Manufacturing; R&D Laboratory; QC Laboratory; Sales and Marketing; Operational Logistics, Supply Chain, NPI, Purchasing and Planning.
PROFILE & SKILLS
- A natural leader of people with a structured and focused management approach that demonstrates living the Group Values
- Educated to graduate level preferably or equivalent experience preferably in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience in factory /Operations management ideally in CDMO and FMCG environment.
- Experience in toiletries manufacturing preferable not essential
- Ability to interact with Group Directors, with strong presentation as well as communication skills
- Demonstrable success in leading and developing CI and behavioral engagement programs
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Advanced communication skills – able to influence both downwards and upwards.
- Excellent RCA skills & associated CI toolbox methodologies in experience in HACCP, HAZOP
- Strong decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize workloads & ability to drive a performance management culture
- Ability to form relationships with colleagues, customers and service providers.
- Computer IT literate (Word, Excel, e-mail, Internet), as well as business systems (ERP,CMMS etc)
- Mastering French language. Fluent in English
- Good understanding of French Employment and H&S Law & site accreditations
- Commercial awareness and a good understanding of basic financial systems and controls.
