Job: Research & Development (R&D) Manager – Construction/Building Materials

Location: ِBaghdad - Iraq

*This position requires relocation to Baghdad - Iraq

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and improve formulations for cement-based and powder construction materials, including cement admixtures, tile adhesives, mortars, and bitumen-based products.

• Conduct laboratory trials, testing, and performance evaluations for new product development and existing product improvement.

• Lead product and process optimization initiatives to ensure consistent quality, performance, and cost efficiency.

• Support production teams during scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to address customer requirements, technical inquiries, and product customization needs.

• Ensure all products comply with applicable quality standards, specifications, and industry regulations.

• Oversee quality control activities related to raw materials, production processes, and finished products.

• Mentor, guide, and develop the R&D and laboratory team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction chemicals or construction materials.

• Proven experience working in construction materials manufacturing companies, particularly in cement-based and powder products.

• Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry, quality control systems, and testing methods for construction materials.

• Hands-on experience with laboratory testing, process improvement, and manufacturing support.

• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
