Job Description:

The role demands the knowledge of two technical areas i.e., SAP Basis and Google Cloud platform. The individual will be responsible for understanding the sizing requirements and provision VMs. Install, upgrade or migrate the various SAP products as per the project requirements. Support SAP systems throughout the lifecycle of projects. Accountable for landscape management, availability, and performance tuning of all SAP systems. Maintaining the Software Lifecycle of SAP System Landscapes to keep the SAP software with no or minimal bugs.

• Hands on experience in SAP Basis and GCP infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of SAP products like S/4HANA, FIORI, PO, SOLMAN, BODS, HANA, ASE etc.
• Experience in High availability, Disaster Recovery, System Refreshes and Backup mechanisms.
• Experience in implementing different High Availability solutions for different SAP Landscapes.
• Should have participated in a minimum of 3 implementation projects in SAP and at least 1 implementation project in SAP on GCP.
• Ability to lead critical issues involving SAP on GCP, FIORI with S/4HANA and SAP HANA.
• Must have experience in Cloud infrastructure components like, Hypervisor, VMs, Storages, Computes,Firewall, etc.

Implementation of SAP System on Google Cloud Platform (GCP):

• In collaboration with GCP infrastructure provider, SI and other relevant stakeholders, develop strategy and roadmap for the SAP on GCP, ensuring it reflects the current and future business needs, aligned with industry, best practices, and solution roadmap.
• Perform the requirement gathering and working closely with the PM team in preparing the project plan.
• Analyze and design the SAP Landscape based on the input provided by the COE Leads.
• Perform the sizing exercise to estimate the hardware that will be needed for the installation of the various SAP Products (both transactional and analytical). Perform the end-to-end Installation and Post-Installation activities for various SAP Products (for example S/4HANA, HANA, FIORI, PO, SOLMAN, BODS, ASE etc..).
• Analyze the SAP systems and configure various functionalities to meet the business requirement.
• Analyze and fine tune the performance of the SAP systems to cater the Business needs.
• Plan and participate in the DB backup and restore testing.

Ongoing Support & Maintenance:

• Co-ordinate the various testing cycles like Unit testing, UAT testing, regression testing, etc. in the various phases of the Change Management Process.
• Participate in the Disaster Recovery drill.
• Perform proactive monitoring of the Business-critical SAP systems to minimize the unplanned downtime and business loss.
• Provide support during the regular maintenance window for activities like OS patching, DB patching, updating the parameters, managing of VMs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning & Accountability
  • Accountable for SAP Ecosystem, database environments and related infrastructure.
  • Overall Operational and strategic accountability for SAP Suite of applications infrastructure ecosystem including SAP Basis and ancillary solutions
  • Provide leadership and development for a team of offshore and onsite employees and operational leadership of a comprehensive managed service
  • Own and drive maintenance calendar to ensure infrastructure downtime is well maintained and communicated to business.
  • Ensure Basis configuration follows corporate and SAP policies
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop ERP Ecosystem architecture, multi-year roadmap, and on-going requirements backlog that supports corporate growth objectives.
  • Manage relationships with key vendors and managed service providers including SAP and GCP.
• • Work with Business users and IT team during discover and prepare phase
  • Understanding the nature of releases and the type of release required based on the changes is very important before making the SAP Release Management or Change Management strategy Project planning and downtime activities with Retrofit strategy
• Oversight for Business Operations in India
  • Support and supervise SAP Application Management Services
  • Support Enterprise Application
  • Provide Onsite / Offsite support and operation activities.
  • Build & Develop the Business operations team

Mandatory skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 12+ years of related experience in SAP Basis.
• At least 4+ years of experience in GCP infrastructure projects.
• Should have done end to end implementation and migration projects.
• Strong understanding of SAP and Cloud architecture.
• Certified in SAP OS/DB migration and GCP is preferred.
