Senior Technical Expert in Electrical Motor Design (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical authority and expert on Electrical Drive Train for electric vehicles, accountable for technical decisions and technical delivery on projects, working closely with technical experts internally
- Accountable for technical solutions, deliverables and risk management to meet long-term business goals
- Defines technology based critical success factors, provides high-level direction and significant input to proposals.
- Take ownership over understanding client requirements and drivers and foresee technical challenges, successfully interacting with clients both technically and commercially
- Lead the definition of technical solutions, systems architectures and design solutions for electrical motor design for xEV
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver research projects on time and with high quality, robust system solutions and products ready for manufacture
- Define the construction of the key vehicle electrical motor technology platform, including the design platform, simulation, control and other technical platforms, and provide necessary training for key personnel;
- Participate in the analysis and decision of the future technology direction of xEV power electronics;
- Leading the team to complete the design of high-density, high-power Powertrain System, with rich experience in EV electrical motor design;
- Define research and pre-development EV electrical motor product planning, project design and product feasibility assessment. Communicate with customers and research institutions in various countries to ensure product planning accuracy and program competitiveness
- Cooperation with universities, research institutes and advanced suppliers in Europe and all over the world.
- Help define new ideas/concepts/methods/schemes of best in class designs to enhance torque, speed and reduce weight, size and cost
Requirements:- Master’s University Degree in Electrical Machines / Drives / Power Electronics / automation / electrical / electro-mechanical or physical science or similar related field
- Profound work experience in Powertrain System including E-Machine and Drive in Automotive industry (min 10 years)
- Good understanding for electrical motor’s advanced technologies, NVH and design methods, including electromagnetic design, fluid temperature rise and motor structure analysis, etc.
- Have successful experience on high power high density automotive powertrain development and production
- Have insights and opinions on the planning direction and competitiveness of electric motor; have a sense of responsibility and mission to make leading products.
- Have a deep understanding of the reliability and functional safety for the Powertrain and profound experience with toolchain
- Experienced in the relevant standards and requirements for the automotive industry;
- Good teamwork ability and communication skills and work experience of well-known automotive electronics or other Tier 1 companies
- Very good English skills in written and spoken (working language)
Preferred:
- Power Electronics / automation / mechanical / electro-mechanical related, doctoral degree is a plus
- Experience on Powertrain product supply chain management
- Fluent in German or other languages and experience in transnational cooperation is a plus
