About the Opportunity:
This unique role invites you to:
- Perform a full spectrum of solid organ transplant surgeries, including kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants.
- Lead pre- and post-operative care for transplant recipients, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nephrologists, hepatologists, immunologists, and surgeons.
- Actively participate in research and innovation to advance the field of transplantation.
- Make a profound impact on the lives of patients and their families by offering the gift of renewed health.
Responsibilities:
- Independently assess and select potential transplant recipients.
- Perform complex open and minimally invasive transplant surgeries with meticulous precision.
- Manage postoperative care, including immunosuppression therapy and potential complications.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and tumour boards.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in transplant techniques and research.
- Contribute to teaching and training of residents and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or equivalent in General Surgery or Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery with subspecialty training in Solid Organ Transplantation from Europe, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume transplant centre.
- Proven expertise in performing successful transplants of various solid organs.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Passion for patient care and dedication to ethical standards.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are a plus.
