Our client, a fast growing global IT Services company, is looking for a strong DC & CLOUD TECHNICAL ARCHITECT
As a Technical Architect, your responsibility will be to serve as recognised subject matter expert and thought leader with deep expertise in Datacentre & Cloud infrastructure.
You will leverage that expertise to perform consulting engagements, support Managed Services onboarding, support presales activities (where appropriate), act as a trusted advisor to the clients and ensure technical end-to-end coherence in project delivery.
In this capacity we will need you to deliver on the following:
- You will be expected to conduct consultative engagements with clients to assess their current Datacentre needs (business and technical) and elaborate recommendations to achieve their target state either on-premise, in the cloud or combining both.
- You will design solution architecture and multi-phased migration programs that address technology, people/organisation and process changes.
- You will drive such engagements across the complete client journey including the delivery phase where you will ensure the technical end-to-end coherence of the delivered solution.
- You will develop standardized consultative engagement templates in response to reoccurring client needs. As owner of such you will be expected to maintain such engagement templates as well as developing sales enablement collateral (e.g., case studies or short descriptions), and raise internal awareness of such engagements.
- We will rely on you to build and develop business cases based on such assessments and present and explain the value of a proposed infrastructure to clients in a consultative manner.
- We will need you to maintain a broad technical and solutions knowledge in key IT infrastructure optimisation and solution areas.
- We will rely on you to research and investigate emerging infrastructure technologies and the best practices associated with them (e.g., related to deployment, integration and operation).
- You may be called upon to mentor or coach other colleagues.
Requirements
- At least 10 years’ experience in infrastructure architecture or related business. An experience in a managed services company is considered a strong plus (Global Delivery Center, ITIL).
- Strong and proven experience in designing, deploying, and supporting large Datacentre deployments and cloud migration.
- Knowledge of Datacentre technologies in virtualization (Vmware, Nutanix,..), Storage (Dell, Netapp,..), Operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows) and Backup (Veeam, Dell, …)
- Knowledge of public cloud landscape (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Interest in automation and Infra as Code
- Strong operational foundation and consulting experience.
- Able to structure and adapt your message to the audience profile (CIO, IT director, engineers)
- Good business acumen allowing identification of business opportunities and our clients’ business needs, and delivery of consultative engagements in line with these.
- Strong knowledge of industry technologies and willingness to further maintain and broaden this knowledge.
- French or Dutch as mother tongue and good verbal and written knowledge of the other language as well as English.
- Emotional and stress resilience and ability to autonomously achieve challenging goals.
- Clear and persuasive communication and able to interact with various stakeholders in a consultative engagement.
- Analytical thinking and excellent problem-solving ability as well as an appreciation for rigour and objectivity.
- Strong personal initiative and a sense for innovation, to identify efficient and competitive solutions to our clients’ needs, as well as new types of engagements and solutions.
- Work flexibility and willingness to travel if needed.
- Strong ability to work as part of a team, and to drive or lead such teams where opportune.
- Eligible and prepared to obtain NATO clearance if necessary.
