Technical Project Manager
Full-time position
Summary: Mechanical Engineer, preferably with Master's degree in Fluid Mechanics, and 6+ years of relevant system development industrial experience.
Responsibilities
• Provide technical direction and project management leadership in mechanical engineering activities - specifically for developing engineering models and simulations applied to fluid machinery (e.g., hydraulics, pumps, compressors, blowers) that validate and improve performance and reliability of the fluid machinery.
• Work closely with engineering teams from customer, manufacturing and testing partners while taking guidance of IISc faculty and leveraging the latest modelling and simulation techniques and software tools available from partner organizations.
• Read, interpret and develop pressure / flow and instrumentation diagrams, piping assembly and fabrication drawings; as well as work with 3D CAD/parametric models.
• Maintain standard BOMs / drawings by incorporating recent lessons learned and keeping it up to date with systematic version control.
• Conduct modelling/simulation/design reviews with cross-disciplinary teams from multiple organizations and drive the project to successful outcomes.
• Assure proper documentation and security of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Coordinate project tasks and schedules while providing support for both internal and external customers/partners.
• Manage projects with a focus on scope, costs, schedules, quality and risks.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering • Master's degree in Fluid Mechanics - preferred • 6+ years of relevant industrial experience • Salary 22lks per annum.
Key Skills • Technical project leadership and coordination • Fluid Mechanics/CFD & CAD methods and tools knowledge (e.g., MATLAB, SolidWorks, Ansys/Fluent) • Broad mechanical engineering knowledge including mechanisms, dynamics & control
Key Characteristics: • Proven experience working in multi-functional engineering teams focused on design definition and detailed engineering modelling/simulation of pumps or similar products. • Core knowledge of engineering principles (especially fluids, mechanisms and controls) and applied knowledge of numerical methods, engineering modelling, CAD/CAE and CFD software tools. • Excellent communication, team coordination and project management skills. • Ability to balance multiple priorities. • Knowledge and working experience on related areas of product design, manufacturing, experimental methods, manufacturability and product costing.
