About the Opportunity:
We seek a highly motivated and experienced consultant to lead a Urology Lab Molecular Medicine unit. You will:
- Perform a broad range of molecular assays for urological malignancies, including prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers.
- Interpret complex molecular data and collaborate with urologists to guide treatment decisions.
- Implement and validate new diagnostic tests to stay at the forefront of the field.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumour boards and contribute to research activities.
- Play a key role in educating and training other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage the Urology Lab Molecular Medicine unit, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality testing.
- Oversee the performance of various molecular techniques, including PCR, NGS, and FISH.
- Analyse and interpret molecular test results in the context of patient clinical data.
- Collaborate with urologists and oncologists to develop personalised treatment plans based on molecular findings.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in urologic molecular medicine and implement new technologies.
- Participate in research activities, potentially leading to publications and presentations.
- Contribute to teaching and training of residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or equivalent in Urology, Urologic Oncology, or Pathology with expertise in molecular medicine from Europe, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a urology lab focused on molecular diagnostics.
- Proven experience in performing and interpreting a wide range of molecular assays for urological malignancies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are a plus.
