Kazakhstan's Labour Market: Development Prospects in 2024

By Michael Germershausen
16-02-2024

At the end of 2023, Antal Kazakhstan conducted an end-of-the-year survey to find out the plans of employers in Kazakhstan for 2024. The survey involved 75 companies operating in Kazakhstan. The results of the survey showed that most employers plan to actively recruit new employees, as well as increase salaries for existing staff.

According to the survey, 55% of companies plan to actively recruit new employees in 2024. This indicates that Kazakhstan's labour market remains dynamic and attractive for professionals. However, it should be noted that 41% of companies will only replace departing employees, which may be due to the need to maintain the stability of the labour force.

The most in-demand specializations among companies were named "Sales" (59%) and "Marketing" (33%). This suggests that the sales and marketing disciplines remains key for businesses in Kazakhstan. This may be due to the active development of retail trade and increased competition in the market.

More than 80% of employers plan to increase salaries for their employees in 2024. At the same time, 36% of them plan to increase salaries by 10-12%. This may be due to the need to retain talented employees and attract new staff.

A third of companies in Kazakhstan are also planning business expansion in the next year. This indicates that the economic situation in the country remains favorable for business development and investment attraction.
