A close relationship to your recruiter will enhance your career success.   

Here are 3 reasons why an effective relationship with your recruiter can deliver massive benefits: 


1 - Job Market vibes 

Recruiters are in tune with the job market.  They can give you up to date advice on changes in your industry or niche based on their dealings with 100’s of companies each week.  Recruiters get to know what is happening on the front line, who is hiring / firing, what is a good package, and they can certainly share their market knowledge with you.  Armed with this information, you will have a better understanding of your value on the job market so you will not unsell yourself.  

Recruiters also spend an incredible time networking and making connections with companies that are not advertising their position online, which results in way more job opportunities for you to have access to. 


2 - Advice 

Professional recruiters screen 100’s of resumes each day, there are only a few which truly stand out.  Being open to your recruiters' feedback and guidance on what works well on a cv will help you stand out from the crowd.  As the recruiters work closely with the client, normally over a long period of time, they would know the interview process, work environment and culture.  They can share a deep insight into the company.  The more information you have about the company and the recruitment process, the higher your chances of selecting the right company for your next career move.  You certainly want to avoid any regret in changing jobs if you did not get the full picture from day 1.

A close relationship to your recruiter can enable you to secure the best deal possible.  The recruiter can often negotiate with the client on your overall package or other particulars without this impacting you new relationship with your potential new employer.  Having a third party with experience of negotiation will be of huge benefit to you.
