Our client is a world-leading consultancy firm that partners with top global brands to modernize and optimize their omnichannel and parcel distribution operations. By combining advanced automation, robotics, and intelligent software, they design and deliver cutting-edge solutions that transform complex supply chain environments.
They are now seeking Software Commissioning Engineers. This role is critical in planning, coordinating, and executing on-site testing for multiple complex technical projects that include system integrations and Client-specific software development. You will guide projects from initial concept through final deployment and play a key role in software verification and implementation.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead on-site software testing, commissioning, and implementation at our Client’s site
- Prepare high-quality documentation for Warehouse Execution System (WES) products
- Provide informed comparisons of WCS/WES concepts and how they integrate within operational environments
- Collaborate with Software Project Management throughout the entire project lifecycle, contributing to planning and execution
- Support Software Quality Assurance and Development teams by clarifying requirements and validating solution feasibility
- Ensure design proposals align with existing product capabilities or can be supported via the R&D roadmap
- Develop advanced test cases and comprehensive test plans for new or updated WES functionalities
- Deliver insights from Client engagements to help shape future R&D and WCS/WES product strategies
- Offer expert feedback during development sprints, ensuring clarity and alignment with requirements
- Maintain high-quality documentation, analysis, and project records
- Lead post-implementation lessons-learned activities
- Execute on-site tests to validate functional logic, system compliance, and interface specifications
- Support Lifecycle Services teams by assisting with high-tier support and troubleshooting
- Stay updated on emerging industry technologies and best practices
- Work closely with the broader Software team to build Client-specific software platforms and applications
- Identify and implement process improvements across commissioning and project delivery
- Mentor and train junior commissioning engineers
- Travel to Client site as needed
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 6+ years’ combined experience in supply chain, distribution, warehouse management systems, or warehouse control systems
- Experience with software development lifecycles (SDLC) and project-based delivery models
- Background in Material Handling Systems and/or WCS
- Knowledge of WES technologies, best practices, and implementation methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of networks, hardware, and communication protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, SOA)
- Solid understanding of database design and file management
- Advanced proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical documentation skills
- Strong Client-facing presence and stakeholder communication abilities
- Strong organizational, analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members
- Ability to travel frequently (50–60%) and perform essential job functions
Advantages:
- 4+ years’ experience with JSE/JEE technologies (Swing, Applets)
- 4+ years’ experience in application server implementation
- AutoStore experience is a significant advantage
- Proficiency in diagnosing transactions in J2EE and C++ environments
- Experience working within Agile methodologies
Our Client Offers:- Fixed-term contract from 3 to 12 months, depending on availability
- Competitive compensation: €30 – €60 per hour
- On-site working model, Monday – Friday, up to 40 hours per week
- Project location: Western Czech Republic
