Our client is a pan-European think tank and non-profit organization, currently in search of a new member for its regional Accounting team in Bulgaria.
Working closely with the Head of the Accounting team, the Accountant will be responsible for delivering accounting services to a group of 7 European entities, ensuring the operation of efficient financial systems and processes that underpin the organization's functions.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, expenses, and payroll
- Managing day-to-day accounting matters and ledgers, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Overseeing payments, supporting cash management, and banking accounting
- Maintaining and operating the accounting and associated business systems
- Establishing and maintaining financial processes, policies, and internal controls
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Cultivating strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Desired skills and qualifications:
- 2 years of hands-on accounting experience in a multinational environment
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Fluency in English
- Familiarity with IFRS or other internationally recognized Accounting Standards
- Proficiency in up-to-date accounting systems and MS Office
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Can-do attitude and proactive approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary, multinational team
Considered an advantage:
- Experience within Shared Service Centre structures or regional teams
- Proficiency in another European language (German, French, Spanish, Italian, or Polish)
- Additional accounting/finance qualifications (e.g., ACCA)
- Experience with non-profit organizations
