OUR CLIENT is an international company who is already active in Romania as a Shared Service structure. They are looking to open a new division SPECIALISED IN ACCOUNTING Services. This is excellent opportunity for a skills qualified chief accountant, ideally with SSC exposure, and/or great customer skills to lead a department of its own and build it from the scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up a new division - a team on Accounting services ; establish the activity flow and take over the clients in this field
- Alocates and overseas the relationship of direct subordinates with a clients’ portfolio of different sectors and manages the relationship with specific clients as allocated by the Partner in charge to secure customer satisfaction.
- Explores ways and takes measures to increase fees to existing clients for the existing services/products offered and staff mix to address client/job inefficiencies, in line with profitability targets and out of scope work.
- Ensures activities and tasks allocated to the new team members are implemented and delivered effectively and according to the time budget allocation per client.
- Supervises all accounting activities and oversees maintenance of the general ledger of the clients’ organization. Through the supervision ensures data entry quality control of team members.
- Develops maintains and updates clients’ accounting policies & practices.
- Consolidation of accounts/ IFRS restatement to meet clients’ requirements.
- Offers basic fiscal consultancy to the clients. Liaises with Tax for complex requests.
- Identifies potential opportunities to provide services to clients (cross-selling).
- Demonstrates strong technical skills & knowledge to identify risks, remedy options and risk minimization solutions.
- Monitors, summarizes and communicates to clients significant market trends, critical issues and news related to Finance & Accounting area.
- Monitors, reviews and approves the timesheets of own team members
- Manages interpersonal relations and inspires team members.
- Provides clear information to team members on their prescribed expected business behaviors and deliverables vs assigned tasks and/or objectives.
- Coordinates, prepares and finalizes team member’s performance evaluations on a timely basis.
- Recruit, Coaches, trains new and/or more junior people and provides technical advice/ support to the team.
- Responsible for follow-up with clients on collection delays.
- Conducts regular team briefings.
- Participates in the recruitment process, interviewing candidates for roles within own team, suggesting best fit candidates.
- Reports regularly to the Partner in Charge on the following: team members’ utilization and recruitment needs, team members’ performance and any related issues.
- Fills in own timesheets in time, complies to the allocated hourly budget of the assigned tasks, controls team’s hourly budget and takes corrective actions in case of any deviation to secure efficiency and on time delivery.
- Respects deadlines assigned by more senior managers. Escalates proactively any deviations.
- Supports other administrative and/ or operational tasks as assigned by the Partner in charge.

Job Requirements (Minimum Qualifications)
- Post Graduate Studies, in Accounting and Bookkeeping Information Systems, Audit, Finance, Insurance, Banks, Business Management or other relevant areas.
- Holding a Romanian Chartered Accountant certification and possibly an equivalent foreign title. CECCAR is a must!
- 5+ years of previous experience in a role that is directly related to the services provided to clients.
- 3+ years of People Management experience.
- Very good knowledge of MIS.
- Good coaching skills and team leading.
