Parkside Recruitment are currently partnering with a top 20 practice firm for the appointment of a Accounts Assistant.
You will ideally have 2 years experience in a similar position and be eager to progress your career into a fast paced role.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts/Bookkeeping
- Posting sales/purchase invoices and reconciling sales and purchase ledgers
- Posting receipts and payments and reconciling bank accounts
- Preparing and posting month end journals including accruals, prepayments, deferred income and expenditure and depreciation
- Input stock movements and reconciling with trial balance figures
- Posting month end salary information
- Close down month end reports and year end balances
- Preparation and submission of client's monthly/quarterly VAT returns under MTD
- Deal with any queries which may arise from clients as primary contact for own portfolio of clients
Skills and Experience:
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
- Keen to continue or pursue accounting qualification
- Practical experience within a similar role or working in industry
- Ability to assist clients with reporting and queries (previous client practice experience desirable)
- Experience and good working knowledge of Sage, QuickBooks, Xero software and Microsoft packages
- Experience of preparing and submitting VAT returns
