Job Purpose

Our client, a global investment management firm in Washington, DC, is seeking an Analyst for Portfolio Management and Research. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with strong expertise in buy-side research and analytics, looking to grow in a dynamic and innovative environment. The Analyst will support portfolio management activities and provide critical research and insights to drive investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis on potential investment opportunities across asset classes.
• Assist in the management of investment portfolios, ensuring adherence to strategy and performance benchmarks.
• Develop financial models, perform valuation analysis, and prepare investment recommendations.
• Monitor market trends, macroeconomic indicators, and competitive dynamics to identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
• Collaborate with the portfolio management team to implement investment strategies and monitor performance.
• Support due diligence and evaluation processes for new and existing investments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field (CFA Level 1 or progress toward certification preferred).
• 2-5 years of experience in buy-side research, portfolio management, or a related analytical role.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience in financial modeling and valuation.
• Familiarity with alternative assets and global investment markets is a plus.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Bloomberg, or other financial software.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information succinctly.
• A proactive and detail-oriented mindset, with a passion for investment management.
