POSITION SUMMARY

• This role is a key position within a newly created team responsible for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across APAC Supply Chain Planning.
• The Data Scientist will be responsible for designing and implementing algorithms using predictive / analytical modelling, systematic data mining methodology, and research methodology on large and complex data sets, through statistical, machine learning, graph modelling, text mining and other modern techniques.
• This position will work closely with other functions in the COE, the APAC Country Supply Chain teams and Global IT teams, SAP Planning Business users,  APAC Finance and IT.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

As an individual contributor in the APAC Planning Intelligent Hub team, you will be responsible for :

• Researching and developing models and algorithms that can detect patterns in multi-dimensional data and build predictive models based on such data. The data includes but will not be limited to customer, demand planning, supply planning, inventory, distribution network data.
• Using knowledge and experience in machine learning and statistics to solve practical problems. Specifically, the knowledge includes classifications, clustering, time-series analysis, regression, and anomaly detection
• Setting up and developing the Data Visualization and Business Intelligence expertise within the team
• Implementing analytical self-service environments and promote a culture of self-service analytics using data visualization tools like Tableau, PBI
• Producing visually intuitive and appealing ‘story boards’ using data visualization tools; Leverage Data Visualization techniques and tools to effectively demonstrate patterns, outliers and exceptional conditions in the data
• Working collaboratively with cross functional teams within Supply Chain planning to develop and implement BI solutions
• Keeping abreast of developments and trends in Data Visualization and Business Intelligence space and proactively propose options to transform APAC Supply Chain Planning capabilities
• Translating complex data science and analytics concepts and methodology into business terms to the customer.
• Leveraging Applied Analytics to develop relevant, data science and analytics solutions cost-effectively
• Understanding complex business challenges, develop hypotheses, integrate internal and external data sources, analyse them using cutting edge machine learning and statistical modelling techniques to uncover causality and synthesizing insights
• Identifying patterns in data, understand leading indicators and lagging indicators and present proof of hypotheses
• Mentor team members on testing techniques, model development and data science concepts
• Analysing data using SQL, Excel, Tableau, R language, Python or other Business Intelligence tools
• Supporting Predictive Modelling projects with data preparation, exploration and other data and I.T. support
• Demonstrating strong aptitude, ability, motivation and interest in placing quantitative analysis in the context of supply chain planning, customer experience in the healthcare sector

BASIC QUALIFICATION

• Experience of advanced analytics such as Predictive Modelling, A/I
• BI tools such as Tableau or Qlikview or PowerBI
• Strong programming skills including at least one modern scripting language such as Python
• Good SQL skills
• Knowledge of statistical tools such as SPSS/SAS and familiar with R language
• Knowledge of CRM/ERP/Data Warehouse
