The position holder will be responsible for identifying and implementing software solutions to optimize business operations. The role of the application manager will include several important responsibilities, such as researching and procuring software applications, installing, configuring, and maintaining software applications, establishing protocols for software applications, overseeing upgrades, and reporting on the progress of operational issues.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyzing business operations and the organization's computer systems to determine which software applications could improve efficiency.

Managing an application portfolio and associated projects.

Identifying opportunities for application optimization, redesign, or process improvement, with a focus on collaboration systems and internal tools.

Providing application administrative support across applications as needed.

Making recommendations on whether to upgrade existing systems or install new ones.

Leading teams of IT specialists in the implementation and upgrading of network hardware and software.

Monitoring the roll-out of new software applications to ensure there are no problems.

Troubleshooting and resolving any problems with business application software.

Creating and overseeing protocols and procedures for the use of any new software applications.

Managing local area networks, installing and maintaining routers, generating email addresses, and creating passwords and backups.

Creating, executing, and maintaining company databases.
-
Staying up-to-date with the latest software developments.
-
Translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications is reflected in the development of applications and systems.

Developing and implementing business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations (e.g., test plans).

Managing external IT vendors and service providers and ensuring timely support.

Analyzing IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics.

Evaluating alternatives, performing appropriate cost-benefit analyses, and recommending solutions that minimize costs commensurate with acceptable risks.

Developing security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms.

Being responsible for internal maintenance and software license management.

Monitoring security compliance in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Performing other unlisted ad-hoc but related work assignments as and when required.
