Responsibilities of the role

- Own the architecture and design of all the systems & microservices for the consumer platform to drive business impact

- Work in a cross-functional team of product managers, Engineers and business managers to translate product requirements into well crafted systems and architecture

- Participate in actively building the services and systems for as much as 75% of your time

- Help build, mentor and coach a team of very talented Engineers, Leads, Quality Engineers, System Operations and DevOps Engineers in architectural and design best practices & engineering methodologies

- Drive and participate in code reviews, design reviews and architecture reviews of the systems

- Drive the migration of the Consumer tech into microservices

- Experiment with and drive adoption of new technologies and tools

- Drive and implement the long term technology vision for the consumer platforms

Skills :

- 10 years of industry experience in software engineering in a fast paced environment, 3 years of which in as an architect

- Strong background in programming languages such as java or javascript

- Track record of having implemented a monolith to microservices migration

- Substantial experience in building high scale systems in a consumer business environment

- Strong Object oriented skills, knowledge of design and architecture patterns and uncanny ability to design intuitive module and class-level interfaces and APIs

- Knowledge of TDD or BDD

- Knowledge of docker & kubernetes

- B.Tech, M.Tech in computer science or an equivalent engineering degree
