Job Purpose:
The Asset & Liability Management Analyst is a member of the Treasury dealing room and, reports into the Treasurer. The successful candidate will be responsible for market research as well as management of the balance sheet ensuring a diversified and liquid funding base and optimizing yield on assets and liabilities. The ALM Analyst shall be responsible for adhering to the Treasury Policies and provisions stated in the Employee Accountability Policy Statement.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities
- Accountable for job performance actions, which includes decision(s) impacting position responsibilities conforming to the bank’s risk appetite and tolerance levels as articulated in the bank's Risk Appetite & Tolerance Framework, mitigating violations or breaches to the bank’s risk appetite in the exercise of their empowerment and the achievement of desired job performance outcomes as directed by Management.
- Complies with all Bank’s legal and regulatory requirements, complies with internal policies and procedures, adheres to the Bank’s Code of Conduct, attends regular periodic training on core Bank policies, and reports any known or suspected violations of the Code of Conduct, policies and procedures to the Bank management.
- Researches and secures premium rates in which to invest and which maximize interest income; maintains money market relationships with banks, brokers and dealers.
- Implement the Bank’s liquidity management strategy and ensures diverse and appropriate availability of funds.
- Cultivates, develops and maintains lasting customer relationships, fosters Bank name recognition.
- Maintains compliance with established Group and Parent Company guidelines.
- Analyses and monitors Currency Sales transactions.
Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental and Institutional needs. Other duties may be assigned like the above and consistent with the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a concentration in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
- Three to five years’ experience of engaging in dealing room analysis, Asset and Liability, Money market trading and/or Fixed Income Trading.
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of Bloomberg and Reuters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
