For a prestigious luxury 5* resort in Tuscany, we are looking for an

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF HOUSEKEEPING

As Assistant Director of Housekeeping you will assist in monitoring the standards and performance of the Housekeeping Team in order to organize and maintain a high degree of standard excellence in suites, villas, and public areas of the resort.  You will assist in the management of an efficient Housekeeping department ensuring that good lines of communication both internally and externally are achieved with all associates and resort clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Housekeeping to oversee the daily operation of the Housekeeping, ensure effective communication for operational issues
• Constantly perform inspections to ensure the overall standards of cleanliness and maintenance of suites, villas, public areas and back-of-the-house areas, in adhering to resort guidelines and brand service standards
• Demonstrate financial acumen and prepare forecasts, monitor daily reports and control the expenses per the department budget without sacrificing the quality of services
• Strive for service excellence by incorporating guest satisfaction as a component of departmental meetings with a focus on continuous improvement
• Foster and maintain strong, positive and supportive relationships with Front Office through effective communication and collaboration
• Evaluate staffing levels in accordance with business demand, provide recommendations for adjustments when needed
• Monitor and manage team performance by providing supervision and professional development, counselling and coaching

Requirements

• Previous work experience in luxury hotels
• Proven managerial abilities in people management, strategic planning and decision making
• Highly organized, result-oriented with exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively communicate and provide directions in a clear, concise and professional manner in both verbal and written form
• Excellent knowledge of English and Italian languages, both oral and written
• The knowledge of other languages is considered a plus.
