About the Role:

Our Client, a multiproduct Company is a leading PVC Manufacturing Company. They are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Mechanical Maintenance for their PVC Plant at Kota. The role involves planning, monitoring, and supervising routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and shutdown/turnaround activities to ensure maximum equipment availability, zero breakdowns, zero defects, and safe operations within budgeted cost.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Strategic / Policy

• Optimize maintenance costs without compromising quality .
• Drive innovative initiatives to improve plant availability and reduce maintenance expenses
• Rationalize and optimize spare parts inventory

B. Operational Excellence

• Maximize equipment availability and on-stream days
• Ensure zero breakdowns and no production loss through effective maintenance planning
• Schedule maintenance activities based on work orders and coordinate with Shift In-Charge
• Maintain and update equipment history records
• Guide mechanical engineers on maintenance and overhauling jobs
• Monitor equipment health through predictive and time-based maintenance practices
• Ensure implementation of breakdown analysis and preventive actions
• Supervise critical maintenance jobs

C. Cost & Inventory Control

• Maintain optimum inventory level of spares
• Optimize manpower utilization and tools for efficient execution
• Ensure cost-effective maintenance practices

D. Turnaround Planning & Execution

• Plan, monitor, and execute turnaround/shutdown activities within budget and timelines
• Ensure zero defects during turnaround execution
• Continuously improve turnaround performance benchmarks
• Prepare turnaround job lists in coordination with operation & maintenance teams, considering statutory and vendor requirements
• Ensure timely arrangement of materials and manpower

E. Systems & Quality Improvement

• Continuously review maintenance systems and practices
• Implement innovative ideas for operational and quality improvements

• Equipment uptime / plant availability
• Maintenance cost vs budget
• Breakdown frequency
• Turnaround adherence (cost & timeline)
• Safety metrics (zero accidents)

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and equipment handling
• Experience in PVC / PP / PE / Petrochemical / Polymer plants is mandatory
• Knowledge of budgeting and maintenance cost control
• Expertise in NDT, condition monitoring, vibration analysis, and equipment balancing
• Experience in workshop practices, fabrication, and equipment overhauling
• Understanding of engineering materials and plant processes
