Role: Asst. Manager HSE
Purpose of position: To lead, develop and implement innovative safety initiatives, conduct various audits, develop Safety mindset, Compliance and Liaising etc.
Training/ Education: BE/Masters/Graduate of Science and Advanced Diploma-Industrial Health and Safety
Additional skills (IT, languages, etc.):
• 10+years of proactive safety management experience in manufacturing setup required - previous experience in the Automotive industry preferred.
• Working knowledge of safety regulations for Automotive industry.
• BE or M.Sc. Environmental Science & Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety in a related field desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to collect, evaluate, understand, synthesize, and interpret data - report results and make recommendations.
• Ability to overcome obstacles and drive organizational change.
• Skills in team building, coaching, and leading others.
• Exemplary standards of integrity and ethics.
• Excellent oral / written communication skills and training ability required – Marathi, Hindi & English-speaking ability sought.
• MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
Key Indicators: Ensure zero accident, Adherence to compliances, KPI Management
Main duties/responsibilities (at least 5): -
1. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
2. Serving as the lead safety, health and environment for location with approach based on respect, trust, and confidence.
3. Strategic thinking, development, and implementation of innovative safety initiatives and systems emphasiz-ing short- and long-range planning and goal attainment to achieve world-class results.
4. Interfacing with and coaching senior business group leaders, plant Managers, and staff on all safety and health matters.
5. Strong technical abilities related to manufacturing setup as well as Environmental regulations, such as ma-chine guarding, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, mobile equipment, and ergonomics.
6. Conducting and following up on safety audits, evaluations, and incidents.
7. Staying abreast of technological advances and regulatory changes to assess the impact on manufacturing operations.
8. Developing and teaching engaging safety training sessions. Conduct employee engagement activities with respect to HSE
9. Lead the incident investigation, root cause analysis, and system-wide corrective action development.
10. Hands-on approach with leading multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment - must be organized, able to work independently, deal with change, and shifting work priorities.
11. Tracking and reporting leading and lagging Environment, Health & Safety metrics and using this data to formulate continuous improvement efforts.
12. Facilitating communication, better practices, and information sharing among all sites supported.
13. Having a passion for safety and inspiring others to carry out their responsibilities with an uncompromising attitude toward Environment, Safety and Health.
14. Partnering with Director Safety and Health and other EHS team members on companywide strategy de-velopment and deployment.
15. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish relationships and influence all levels across all functions, in-cluding management, line workers, government officials, customers, visitors, local stakeholders and other stakeholders or internal company organizations/partners.
Must have Skill Requirements:
1. Good English communication skills
2. Good understanding of HSE Practices
3. Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO14001
4. Strong knowledge and awareness of statutory compliances.
Nice to have Skills:
1. Experiences in similar function as a HSE Manager
2. Basic knowledge of applicable quality standards like ISO 9001
