Role Overview:
The Automation Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the successful commissioning of automation and control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring compliance with project specifications and operational requirements.Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify vendor drawings and documentation against project requirements. Develop control philosophy, Cause & Effect matrix, I/O lists, and alarm lists aligned with P&IDs. Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for automation control panels. Review and validate HMI/SCADA/DCS graphics per project and control philosophy. Plan, execute, test, troubleshoot, and document commissioning activities for PLC/SCADA systems and control panels. Perform pre‑commissioning checks, functional testing, and performance verification of automation components. Troubleshoot automation/control system issues including instrumentation and communication networks. Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of systems. Prepare comprehensive commissioning documentation, including test procedures, reports, and as‑built drawings. Provide training to plant operators on control system operation and maintenance. Assist across multidisciplinary commissioning functions (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, process). Follow all safety regulations and company procedures.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation & Control, Automation Engineering, or a related field. 8–10+ years of experience in automation commissioning for water/wastewater treatment plants. Strong knowledge of PLC/SCADA/DCS systems, control panel design, and instrumentation. Experience with controllers and drives (e.g., soft starters, VFDs) and communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP). Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Willingness to travel to project sites, possibly internationally.Preferred:
