Job Requirements:

• MBBS
• American Board or Canadian Fellowship in Bariatric Surgery
• 3+ years experience after certification.
• Arabic Speaker
• Dataflow for SCFHS is a must
• Valid SCFHS is a plus

Job Description:

• To fulfill a variety of roles that, in concert with other members of the weight management team, can effectively and efficiently enhance the surgical weight loss program for the Garnet Health System.
• The evaluation of patients that have been unsuccessful achieving long term weight loss by non-surgical means and determine whether or not they would be appropriate candidates for weight loss surgery.
• To help prepare them properly for surgery, minimizing as many potential risks as possible from both a clinical and psychological stand point.
• To assist them with their postoperative care in both the hospital and office setting.
• The Bariatric Surgeon must have modern Laps skills (MIS) including the ability and experience to do revisions of surgeries laparoscopically.
• Must have proficiency in performing Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding, gastric balloon placement and sleeve gastrectomy surgery.
• Supervise and teach younger staff.
