Responsibilities

• Supporting the business experts into building requirements specification and ensuring technical
• teams implement correctly
• Advise and challenge business experts and evaluate technical options to deliver the best solutions
• possible
• Act as the interface between Business Experts and Technical teams by translating “business language”
• into “IT language” and vice versa.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to support the business experts.
• Perform analysis to detect anomalies in the reporting data, investigate reporting issues demonstrating
• the ability to work with a wide range of data sets
• Work with data from a complex System Infrastructure including Trade capture systems, MDM,
• internal build systems, etc.
• Work closely with technical teams supporting and assisting where necessary to ensure success
• delivery of Business initiatives
• Support business experts in designing and performing User Acceptance Testing
• Collaborate with other Business Analysts to have an efficient delivery.
• Take Ownership of deliverables

Qualifications

A must

• Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand complex topics with very strong attention to
• detail
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to work with large data sets
• Ability to follow Agile working methodologies and have good understanding of delivering software
• solutions
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to document and translate Business requirements to cross
• functional teams.
• Capability to translate business requirements into a business requirements documentation and
• support the software engineer in translating into a functional specification
• Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership and accountability
• Being able to translate data into useful business information.
• Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities within
• deadlines
• Ability to adapt different working styles, being flexible and being able to work well under pressure

An advantage

• Knowledge of energy trading, esp. products traded, markets, portfolios
• Work experience of financial and non-financial products, e.g. exchange traded derivatives, OTC
• derivatives, OTC Physical etc.
• Experienced in Energy Trading Systems and related data flows
• Experience of Azure and Snowflake.
• Knowledge of Python and other analytics tools nice to have
• Familiarity with Python Data Science stack (pandas, numpy, Matplotlib)
• Solid skills with data visualization tools like Power BI
