Position Overview:
The role of a B2B Sales Dealer Distribution Business Development professional involves driving growth and profitability by developing and maintaining relationships with distributors, dealers, and other business partners. The primary goal is to expand the distribution network and increase sales revenue for the company's products or services. This position requires strong sales acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to strategize and execute business development plans effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Dealer and Distributor Network Expansion: Identify potential dealers and distributors within the assigned region or market segment. Establish and maintain relationships with existing partners while actively seeking new business opportunities to expand the distribution network.
Sales and Revenue Generation: Achieve sales targets and revenue goals set by the company. Work closely with dealers and distributors to drive sales growth, implement marketing strategies, and promote products or services effectively.
Business Development Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development plans to penetrate new markets and maximize market share. Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to create strategies that yield a competitive advantage.
Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with dealers and distributors to ensure mutually beneficial agreements. Manage contractual relationships, ensuring compliance and resolving any disputes that may arise.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to dealers and distributors on product knowledge, sales techniques, and marketing initiatives. Help them understand the features and benefits of the products/services to effectively position them in the market.
Market Analysis: Conduct regular market research to identify potential opportunities, customer demands, and competitor activities. Use the insights gained to make informed decisions and tailor business development strategies accordingly.
Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of sales, transactions, and business development activities. Analyze sales data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the business development initiatives and make data-driven improvements.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Address customer concerns promptly and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to align business development efforts with overall company objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA or equivalent is a plus).
- Proven experience in B2B sales, dealer/distributor management, and business development.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Result-oriented and self-motivated with a strong drive for achieving targets.
- Knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitor activities is desirable.
- Native African speakers are required.
