Job Summary:
Business intelligence and MIS Lead reports to Chief Data and Analytics Officer. Business intelligence and MIS Lead will take ownership of data analytics, MIS and reporting functions and will lead design, development, and maintenance of organization-wide dashboards and reports.
Responsibilities
- Own data analytics projects under guidance of CDAO
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, specifically related to customers, accounts, and products, and translate them into effective visualizations.
- Work with Stakeholders to facilitate requirements gathering and documentation.
- Work with Technology to design robust and secure solutions integrated with current technical and data environment while being scalable for strategic platform solution.
- Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI and data analytic dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
- Lead reports and dashboard integrated system testing, take accountability and responsibility to coordinate User Acceptance Testing for reporting across organization.
- Performs complex analyses that combine data from disparate data sources to create integrated centralized view of mapped and reconciled data utilizing various data analytics and data science tools and techniques.
- Implement best practices for data modelling, tailored for financial industry data structures and relationships to facilitate reporting.
- Develop deep understanding of current reporting and lead development of future state solutions to automate and centralize reports generation.
- Design and develop self-service solutions to empower business users to consume modelled fit for purpose data to help them in their daily duties.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to reports and dashboards in a timely manner.
- Work closely with data and governance analysts to ensure analytics fits into comprehensive scalable solution in line with overall CDAO data strategy.
- Work with CDAO to create and facilitate training for the business community to effectively use PowerBI and other data analytics, reporting and self-service capabilities.
- Document reporting processes including quality assurance, reporting data elements lineage to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge transfer within the organization.
Technical / SKILLS:
Data Processing and Analysis
Statistical Analysis Tools like R or Python
Experience with Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics techniques such as regression analysis, time series forecasting, and classification models.
PowerBI proficiency
Strong expertise in PowerBI, including the ability to design and develop complex dashboards and reports. Advanced knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) language for creating calculated columns, measures, and custom calculations.
SQL Proficiency
Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, analyzing, and manipulating data from
relational databases. Ability to write complex SQL queries to extract, transform,
and load data for reporting purposes.
Experience in optimizing SQL queries for reports performance and efficiency.
Data Modeling
Proven experience in designing and implementing effective data models.
Understanding of relationships, hierarchies, and optimization techniques for efficient data processing and reporting
Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or similar RDBMS platform
Exposure to Big Data technologies, Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark, AWS,
S3, Impala, Presto, cloud -based data architecture is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft PowerBI Certification, or any accredited PowerBI equivalent certification is preferred.
- 5 + years’ experience as a PowerBI Developer
- Experience standing up data analytics and reporting function is preferred.
- Experience with ETL and ELT
- Experience with SDLC and agile project management.
- Familiarity with financial data structures and the ability to translate business requirements into meaningful visualizations.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated interest in staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Willingness to innovate and contribute to the continuous improvement of data analytics processes.
