Our client is a famous Venture Capital company with HQ in China and the US. Currently we are looking for a CFO in Spain and the working place is Barcelona. The role will report to the key equity shareholders and will have full accountability and responsibility for all aspects of finance, covering financial administration, financial strategy, cash management, compliance, operational effectiveness, analysis, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the board’s finance and accounting strategy, to optimise the company’s financial performance and strategic position
- Contribute to the development of the company’s financial strategy across all areas of the business
- Develop and manage financial system, reporting tools, and key performance metrices to provide management insight into revenue and operating expense trends, track project spending, headcount, and potential risks / opportunities to forecast or plan
- Manage the overall financial forecast, processes, policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
- Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports and governmental agency reports. Ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international reporting standards
- Compare profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses, make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets
- Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard assets
- Direct the overall financial plans and accounting practices, Manage the financial performance by developing forecasts and monitoring ongoing performance against plan
- Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
- Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
- Partner with senior leaders to push the boundaries of current and future departmental goals and strategies,
- Lead all strategic pricing work and ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
Requirements and skills
- Bachelor's degree or above from a top tier University in accounting, finance or relevant field, MSc/MBA is a plus
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA; CPA is a strong advantage
- 10+ years in leadership roles with progressively increasing responsibility and recent roles(s) as CFO in fortune 500 companies.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of data in order to identify and present meaningful observations and recommendations
- Proficient in the use of financial management software
- Experience managing all elements of finance including accounting, financial planning and analysis, cash, and banking relationships
- Ability to build relationships with leaders to drive better business performance
- Effectively manage Accounting and Finance professionals to achieve the desired goals
- Spanish and English Fluent speaker, Chinese Mandarin is a definitely plus.
Travel
This position requires at least 30% of the time for domestic & international travel
