Chief Accountant

The job holder will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, and managing a team of accountants. Daily tasks include managing accounting policies, preparing financial statements, coordinating audits, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The role reports to GM directly.

Tasks:

1. Ensure finance and administration are in full compliance with legislation and company regulations
2. Manage the accounting department
3. Coordinate general ledger and accounting tasks, performing general ledger reconciliations
4. Prepare monthly and quarterly closings on time
5. Prepare tax returns and other statistical reports, IFRS reports
6. Operate company-specific accounting platforms and applications
7. Contribute to the preparation of year-end income statements and financial reports
8. Actively participate in the preparation of tax filings
1. Liaise with authorities, banks, auditors
10. Monitor changes in legislation
11. Liaise with internal departments (HR, payroll, investment, logistics)

Requirements:

1. Relevant degree
2. Accounting/ Financial reporting knowledge (Hungary statutory, IFRS)
3. Experience in finance leadership /chief accountant role
4. Very good knowledge of Excel
5. Good level of English, spoken and written
6. Organizational capacity
7. Pressure resistance capacity
8. Excellent leadership and team management skills
1. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
10. Experience in the retail industry is a plus
