Our Client is a central EU ambitious medical services group who has recently expanded to Romania and who aims to operate approximately 40 clinics in Romania next year, through a mix of greenfield developments and acquisitions. The Romanian entity works closely with Group HQ and plays a strategic role in the regional growth plan. This role is a key pillar in stabilizing, structuring, and scaling their Romanian operations.
The existing Romanian organisation contains an ops manager, an office manager, one financial reporting expert and various externalised collaboratores.
Scope of the role:
- In addition to ensuring statutory accuracy and compliance, this role has a critical transformation mandate. The Chief Accountant will lead the transition of accounting and tax reporting for all Romanian veterinary clinics to a single, unified external accounting and tax service provider. On a longer run, an internalisation of accounting and finance function is an option to consider;
- The role will act as the central coordinator between clinic managers, the external BPO partner, and Group HQ, ensuring harmonized reporting, consistent treasury practices, and aligned tax procedures across the network.
- Importantly, this is not an unstructured or greenfield situation. Preliminary analyses of existing clinic accounting setups have already been completed, providing a solid starting point for the harmonization process.

Desired skills & ideal candidate profile:
- Senior-level accounting experience in Romania; RAS package and current fiscal legislation knowledge;
- Previous involvement in acquisitions, integrations, or fast-growing organizations is a strong advantage
- Strong exposure to Romanian accounting balance sheet closure, usual local reporting and fiscal declarations, of minimum 3 years
- Experience with multi-entity environments;
- Exposure to intercompany accounting and group structures would be a plus

The Chief Accountant will supervise the statutory accounting and tax matters for all the legal entities as part of the Romanian group and its growing network of clinics, being an active and senior interface between the accounting service provider and each of the entity manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the transition of all Romanian clinics’ accounting and tax reporting to a single external accounting and tax service provider
- Harmonize accounting, reporting, treasury, and tax procedures across clinics of varying size and maturity
- Act as the key accounting interface between clinic managers, external BPO providers, and Group HQ
- Provide specialized accounting, tax, and treasury guidance to clinic managers when needed
- Support treasury-related topics, including cash management and discussions around intercompany or bank financing at clinic level
- Prepare the foundation for the future internalization of the accounting function within our Client Co in Romania
- Full statutory accounting revision of the associated clinics, in order to ensure a smooth and consistent process of the local group
- Processing and supervision of bank transfers
- Support /advice in management of intercompany transactions and intercompany loans
- Support for the Tax accounting, tax reporting, and fiscal compliance
- Support for group consolidation from a Romanian statutory perspective ( IFRS NOT required)
- Accounting transfer and onboarding of newly acquired clinics to LuxVet HQ
- Support for the greenfield clinic - accounting setups
- Standardization of accounting practices across clinics
- Ongoing accounting support and guidance for clinic managers
- Ensuring data accuracy and consistency across entities
- Preparation of regular financial and statutory reports
- Support during audits and external reviews
- Main accounting advisory for the cooperation with the Romanian authorities (ANAF, local fiscal bodies)
- Professional communication with banks and external partners
- Close collaboration with Group HQ finance teams
- Clear, practical communication with clinic managers
ERP & TOOLS
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (ex-Navision)
- Strong focus on process standardization following recent ERP integration
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
Professional background
- Senior-level accounting experience in Romania
- Background in Big 4, or in a large accountingBPO providers, or complex multi-entity organizations is a plus, but not a MUST requirement
- Experience working with multiple legal entities, ideally in environments with centralized or outsourced accounting models
- Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting and fiscal legislation
- Exposure to intercompany accounting and group structures
- Previous involvement in acquisitions, integrations, or fast-growing organizations is a strong advantage
Education & certification
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. (preferably ASE)
- CECCAR qualification is welcome but not mandatory
