Chief Engineer — Luxury Resort, Crete

We’re seeking a forward-thinking Chief Engineer to safeguard and elevate the technical backbone of one of Crete’s most renowned resorts. This permanent role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives on problem-solving, planning ahead, and inspiring a skilled team—all while ensuring the property operates seamlessly and sustainably.

The Chief Engineer is the guardian of the resort’s infrastructure. From preventive maintenance to energy systems, pools to guest rooms, you’ll ensure that everything runs reliably, efficiently, and safely. Working closely with leadership and across departments, you’ll directly impact both guest satisfaction and long-term asset value.

What you’ll do:

• Lead all technical operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, water treatment, and emergency systems
• Ensure proactive and corrective maintenance programs protect both buildings and guest experiences
• Collaborate with Operations, Housekeeping, and Design teams for smooth, timely solutions
• Oversee compliance with H&S regulations and best practices (including OSHA standards)
• Manage departmental budgets and support capital planning with ownership and management
• Motivate, coach, and develop a skilled engineering team through hands-on leadership
• Drive continuous improvement, safety culture, and operational excellence across the property

Skills & qualifications:

• Degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, or Mechanics (with strong HVAC/electrical/plumbing knowledge)
• Proven experience (2+ years) as Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering / Head of Maintenance in hospitality or construction
• Fluent in Greek and English, with strong communication and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with maintenance systems, MS Office tools, and project reporting
