Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Insurance Company

Challenges and opportunities for the CFO:
- Optimization of financial flows and internal/external reporting.
- Implementation of a new ERP system or consolidation of the existing one.
- Support in strategic decisions regarding portfolio expansion, partnerships, or acquisitions.
What You Will Do as CFO
- Contribute to defining and implementing the financial and risk strategy in line with medium- and long-term business objectives.
- Oversee all finance and accounting activities, financial reporting, internal and external audits, and cash flow management.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance: profitability, costs, margins, claims ratios, technical reserves, solvency, and liquidity.
- Ensure compliance with financial, tax, and insurance regulations (including accounting standards, Solvency II, IFRS, etc.).
- Lead the budgeting, financial forecasting, and scenario planning processes, and provide leadership for strategic decisions through rigorous financial analysis.
- Manage relationships with investors, banks, supervisory authorities, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Optimize capital structures, investments, and financing for sustainable growth.
- Lead the finance team: recruitment, professional development, process optimization, and digitalization.
Who We Are Looking For
- University degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related fields; a master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is an advantage;
- Minimum 10–12 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in regulated environments such as banks, non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs), insurance companies, or other financial institutions.
- Solid experience in risk management, insurance regulations, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS, National Bank of Romania regulations).
- Experience in complex hierarchical structures, with direct reporting to the CEO/Board and coordination of functional teams (e.g., accounting, financial control, planning and analysis, risk).
- Experience in interacting with regulatory authorities, external auditors, investors, or other supervisory entities.
- Excellent skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Determination, rigor, results orientation, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
