The Chief Financial Officer plays pivotal role in overseeing the financial activities and strategies of a company. Also, the CFO plays a critical role in driving the financial health and sustainability of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing financial performance, and supporting strategic decision-making to achieve long-term objectives.Our client owns production unit in a location near Cluj.
The main responsibilities:
Financial strategy:
● Align financial goals and objectives with the overall strategic direction of the organization.
● Capacity to anticipate and assess financial risks and opportunities, and develop proactive strategies to address them.
● Prepare the annual budget, perform the financial analysis (budget versus realization), and report to the global organization, using IFRS/GAAP standards.
● Implement effective cash management strategies to optimize the use of funds and minimize financial risks.
Operational efficiency:
● Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
● Compile the balance sheet specifications for the auditors and perform the statutory filings.
● Prepare and review income tax returns and computations, VAT compliance: VAT returns; recapitulative statements; and other related VAT documents and reporting.
● Ensure corporate and individual tax compliance: tax computations; tax returns; tax refund applications; other tax documents and statutory forms, and at the same time maintain communication with dedicated tax consultants.
● Manage the monthly payroll, ensuring accurate and on-time processing.
ERP data maintenance:
● Finalize manual entries and the work in progress and stock-related ERP transactions and check if the entries are following Romanian requirements.
● Set up and maintain the ERP system following the (changing) tax regulations, the chart of accounts, and the group accounting policy.
People management:
● Manage a team, facilitating for these colleagues the necessary conditions to work optimally and grow sufficiently in their jobs.
● Delegate effectively, provide clear direction, and foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Accounting/ Finance/ Economics.
● Fluent in Romanian and English language, both oral and written.
● Intragroup reporting using IFRS/ GAAP standards.
● Solid knowledge of the Romanian tax code and chart of accounts and knowledge of both local direct tax regulations and VAT regulations.
● Advanced knowledge of the MS Office package, demonstrating solid MS Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
● Demonstrated people management skills, providing strategic leadership and guidance to finance teams and other departments within the organization.
