Responsibilities:

• Supervise the activities of the Heads of Credit analysis, Credit administration/ monitoring, Compliance and other risk management functions
• Establish an integrated risk management framework for all aspects of risk for the Bank in Tanzania.
• Develop risk management policies including the quantification of management’s risk appetite through specific risk limits
• Establish and implement set of strategic risk parameters and metrics, including losses and incidents, key risk exposures and early warning indicators
• Identify emerging risks facing the Bank for detailed analysis and subsequent development of high-level control interventions to manage emerging trends
• Ensure compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) standards across the region Maintain, acquire and reactivate customer relationships to improve deposit liability growth and mix.
• Implement appropriate AML/CFT sanctions and financial crime prevention policies, procedures, systems and controls.
• Ensure processes are in place for internal and external reporting of suspicious activity such as internal whistle blowing Sourcing for and monitoring of customer’s tenured investment / facilities.

KPIs:

• Ensure responses to internal and external queries fall within agreed turnaround time
• Effectiveness of Policies and processes developed in limiting credit defaults
• Maturity on the implementation of the risk management framework
• Achievement of risk management implementation plan
• Proactive identification of emerging risks
