Job Summary:
As the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), you will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust risk management framework to ensure the bank's financial stability and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across various business functions while fostering a risk-aware culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Management Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy aligned with the bank's overall objectives.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management policies and procedures.
Risk Identification and Assessment:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and analyze potential risks to the bank.
- Collaborate with business units to assess the impact of new products, services, or initiatives on overall risk exposure.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure the bank's compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies to address inquiries and examinations related to risk management.
Credit Risk Management:
- Oversee the credit risk management process, including the evaluation of credit policies, loan portfolios, and provisioning strategies.
- Implement measures to mitigate credit risks and ensure the overall quality of the loan portfolio.
Market and Operational Risk Management:
- Manage market and operational risk by developing and implementing strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats.
- Monitor key operational risk indicators and implement risk mitigation plans as needed.
Risk Reporting:
- Prepare and present regular reports to the executive management and board of directors on the bank's risk profile and risk management activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to regulatory authorities.
Collaboration and Training:
- Collaborate with various departments to embed risk management practices into daily operations.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on risk management policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior risk management role within the banking industry.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
