Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for reporting to the Business Risks and Reinsurance BU Director, the Chief Underwriting Officer will have as main missions the development of the customer portfolio, the loyalty of the latter and the contribution to the improvement of the current conditions (guarantees and prices).
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or business school diploma (Finance, etc.)
- A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a similar role
- Expertise Knowledge of the basic notions and general principles to be able to apply the techniques and methods
- Good knowledge of the theoretical and practical foundations of the competency
- Knowledge of the subject with the possibility of proposing optimal solutions in the field
- Excellent knowledge of the conceptual, technical, and practical aspects with the possibility of innovation in the field
- In-depth insurance knowledge
- Proven experience in writing and executing corporate business plans
- Strong analytical skills and numerical aptitude
- Extensive operational skills and experience in a corporate environment, including budget management, financial management, claims, resource allocation
- Knowledge of Insurance law
- Negotiation and communication techniques
- Team management
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate
Job Description
- Defining and guaranteeing the implementation of the underwriting policy in the area of construction, damage and technical risks
- Guarantee the compliance of the damage and technical risk portfolio with the underwriting rules of the company and the local regulations in force
- Setting up group underwriting standards and maintaining a commitment matrix in line with defined underwriting powers
- Guaranteeing the underwriting of major risks by the procedures in force
- Working on the deployment of suitable products and the implementation of innovative solutions in partnership with the general and technical departments of the subsidiaries and/or brokers and collaboration with the various partners (reinsurers, insurers, brokers)
- Assisting the subsidiaries in the management and investigation of major and/or complex claims (whether to decide on the guarantees, to appoint the experts, to negotiate with the stakeholders in the files, internal and external) in collaboration with the claims teams
- Identifying training needs and implementing appropriate actions, particularly as a contribution to the training of claims teams in collaboration with the company
- Representing the company and its subsidiaries as a business expert and opinion leader before any stakeholder in the insurance market both in the context of underwriting and claims investigation and external representation events
