1. Assist in the management of civil and structural engineering contractors assigned to work on the design of renewable energy facilities, including definition of requirements and specifications, review of engineering drawings and RFI management.
2. Optimize design to maximize ROI
3. Provide engineering consulting support to project managers in the preliminary design and engineering of roads, foundations and O&M buildings.
4. Provide engineering consulting support to other areas of the organization, including O&M and Business Development.
5. Develop and maintain civil and structural specifications and requirements to define company standards to contractors. Ensure consistency with company Corporate specifications.
6. Contribute to the civil “Safety in Design” process for all company projects in development and engineering.
7. Oversee the civil and structural tests performed by Construction Team on site during the construction of the renewable energy facilities. Support the QA/QC team on site.
8. Provide civil technical interface to support Procurement.
9. Evaluate different foundation designs and road design material; prepare bid tab evaluations for material as needed.
10. Assist with management of the Non-Conformity and the Quality Audit programs.
11. Using internal estimates, accurately forecast the scope, cost and duration of future projects in early development stages.
12. Review and comment on the scope of work on civil contracts.
13. Support the Construction Team in the review and preparation of RFPs to be submitted to contractors. Review and evaluate estimates.
14. Maintain and calibrate the construction estimating tool. Track the market and follow market trends (commodity and labor pricing).
15. Follow Company’s processes and procedures to safely and effectively design and test company renewable generating facilities for “Best in Class Performance”.
16. Maintain a current understanding of renewable generation technology by participating in various training opportunities and reading company and industry documents and publications as well as participating in other professional development activities.
17. Ensure compliance of self and others on site during construction with federal, state and local laws and with company ’ s safety and environmental standards, policies and practices.
18. Create the weekly and monthly reporting requirements for our internal and external customers, as well as KPI reporting.
19. Other responsibilities as assigned.
