Job Description
Key Activities:
- Manage and look after a portfolio of clients
- Prepare financial statements and year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies
- Prepare corporation and personal tax returns
- Undertake review of VAT and bookkeeping
- Assist the Practice Manager and Directors with the smooth running of the office and ad-hoc work
- Timely and efficient completion of tasks assigned, in line with firm operating procedures and processes
- Organise your work flow, allocating assignments and managing your time as necessary taking in to consideration your clients expectations, deadlines and other constraints
- Regular, proactive communication with colleagues to update on progress with work
- Liaise with third parties as required (HMRC, mortgage brokers, other members of your team, etc)
- Take part or holding client meetings as and when required
- Assisting team members where required
- Communicating with clients and building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Providing proactive outbound advice to clients, both new and existing, including tax planning
Education and Training:
- Should possess a minimum of 1 years post qualified experience in a similar practice-based role.
- Technical Research and other training as required
Qualifications:
- Hold either ICAEW or ACCA qualification with a strong academic background
Skills, knowledge and competencies:
- Proven experience planning, undertaking and completing a wide variety of accounting assignments under FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105, of varying sizes and complexity
- Proven experience in drafting and finalising corporation tax computations for a variety of companies
- Good awareness of other aspects of OMB taxation (VAT, employment and personal taxes)
- Exceptional level of personal organisation, and a proven ability to manage own time and deadlines · Demonstrate strong analytical and logical skills
- Technically up to date with awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks
- Unquestionable integrity, with excellent communication skills and a flexible, adaptable and committed attitude
- Excellent communications skills - verbal and written
- Organised and methodical approach
- Good IT skills, including proficient use of Excel and Word
