JOB SUMMARY
As a clinical psychologist is a mental health professional who will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality psychological services to patients, collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and contributing to the hospital's commitment to excellence in mental health care, applying psychological theories and principles to understand and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorder.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments of patients to diagnose and treat mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to patients, using evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, or other appropriate modalities.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams, collaborating with psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Develop and implement evidence-based psychological interventions, such as mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) programs, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), or other therapies tailored to the needs of individual patients.
- Provide consultation and supervision to mental health professionals and trainees within the hospital, as well as to external healthcare providers and organizations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of psychological interventions and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and contribute to the development and maintenance of hospital policies and procedures related to mental health services.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including attending conferences, workshops, and courses, to stay current with the latest research, evidence-based treatments, and best practices in the field of clinical psychology.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from a reputable educational institution.
- Master's degree in psychology.
- Dataflow is a must.
- Licensure or certification as a psychologist, with eligibility for registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
Professional Experience
- + 3 years of clinical experience in providing psychological services in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Language
- Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
