Commissioning Engineer

Position Summary:
Commissioning Engineer with 15 years of experience, including substantial experience in Basra, Iraq, to lead the commissioning activities for a Flare Gas Recovery Station project in Basra. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the commissioning processes for oil and gas projects and experience with key equipment such as compressors, pressure vessels, coolers, pump packages, control systems, and cabling.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans for the Flare Gas Recovery Station, ensuring all systems and equipment, such as compressors, pressure vessels, coolers, pump packages, and control systems, are commissioned in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
• Oversee the testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of equipment, ensuring operational readiness before project handover.
• Lead the commissioning team on site, coordinating with other departments such as engineering, construction, and operations to ensure smooth and timely commissioning activities.
• Prepare and maintain accurate commissioning documentation, including test results, punch lists, and completion certificates, ensuring all paperwork is in compliance with local and international standards.
• Ensure seamless transition of commissioned systems to the operations team, providing necessary support and training as required.
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise during commissioning, working with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Ensure that all commissioning activities adhere to Iraqi safety regulations and international safety standards, with a focus on HSE practices during high risk activities.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project management to ensure timely delivery of all commissioning related milestones.
• Proven expertise in commissioning compressors, pressure vessels, coolers, pump packages, control systems, and cabling systems.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas process systems and equipment, with a focus on flare gas recovery systems.
• Experience with preparing and executing detailed commissioning procedures.
