Our Client is a global financial operation and leasing corporation, active in Romania since more than 15 years. The Company is a very sound corporation that is well known for its employees longevity inside their company, everywhere in the world.
This role is full on-site and at the moment this role is the first one in the compliance team in Romania.. The work location is nice and modern in district 1 Bucharest, with own office to use and a very pleasant team spirit.
This role will directly report outside Romania to the Regional Risk & Compliance Manager, Eastern Europe Area
Scope of the role:
The primary objective of this role is to provide support in ensuring compliance with corporate policies, local jurisdictional laws, and regulations (>70%).
Additionally, the position involves aiding local teams in various administrative tasks (<30%).
The few most important must haves of the best matching Candidate in this role are:
Understanding of EU AML and GDPR regulations. AML is a must have, while GDPR nice-to-have, only.

Responsibilities:
• Reporting and collaborating with AML authorities.
• Participating in internal/external audits covering AML and compliance-related matters.
• Coordinating and supporting compliance risks, including National Bank of Romania (NBR) financial service regulations.
• Implementing necessary compliance processes and procedures.
• Maintaining documentation as required by corporate policies or other regulatory authorities.
• Supporting the timely and accurate execution and filing of all compliance and related reports.
• Facilitating communication and training for the local compliance program as needed.
• Monitoring regulatory safety checks and health checks and liaising with external vendors.
• Implementing compliance controls and monitoring the performance of compliance processes.
• Handling other administrative tasks.Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Fluency in Romanian language, both written and verbal.
• Good English skills, both written and verbal.
• Understanding of EU AML and GDPR regulations.
• Understanding of financial reporting, external auditing, and internal auditing beneficial.
• Working knowledge of audit procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, highly organized, sense of urgency, and a self-driven attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and cultivate relationships across all levels of the organization.Pro-activity and a good level of independence at work - are some very much appreciated skills!
NOTA BENE: the legal studies are a plus, not a must have in this role!
Coverage: For Romania, the direct manager of the group's structure is in another country and will oversee Romania. Future regional projects and meetings may arise.
Reporting: In Romania, the compliance department has only one person, regulated by the National Bank of Romania (BNR). The role reports to the director in Romania but also has a regional manager. Evaluation and requirements come from the regional manager. The role involves applying both local and group regulations.
Administration: Despite being a small office in Romania, responsibilities, including compliance tasks, are distributed among the team. Compliance processes, such as due diligence with partners and adherence to NBR regulations, are crucial before entering business cooperation. Administrative duties include overseeing the signing of paper correspondence and occasional task coverage during team members' leave.

Salary: budget depending on the candidate can be around 15-17k RON gross/month
Quarterly incentive compensation based on individual performance and company results.
Flexible working hours.
Travel indemnity: 550 lei net per month
Meal vouchers: 40 lei (gross value)/day
Additional vacation days based on tenure: 5 extra vacation days.
