A leading reinsurer based in Johannesburg is looking for a Corporate Actuarial Analyst/Senior Analyst (Non-Life). If you have experience with IFRS17, having significant progress towards completing your actuarial exams and are an Actuarial Analysts with experience in the Life sector and are interested in transitioning to Non-Life or a Non-Life Actuarial Analysts and are looking at joining our client’s technical Actuarial Team this is the job for you!

Minimum Requirements

• Familiarity with non-life IFRS 17
• SAM experience advantageous
• Reinsurance work experience advantageous
• At least 2 years of Life/Non-life insurance experience
• Advanced Excel (including VBA) and Power BI skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
• Strong technical skills and the ability to consistently produce high-quality output with little guidance or supervision
• Actuarial Degree with Honours
• Good progress towards qualification

Responsibilities:

• Part of the team responsible for the local implementation of IFRS 17:

• (Challenging results and drivers, assessing adherence to the Standard and deriving input assumptions)

• Reserving for the company’s Group Sub-Saharan non-life multiline book
• Preparation of quarterly and annual reserving processes and results
• Analysis of the performance of the non-life business
• Statutory reporting (non-life), including SAM and Solvency II
• Modelling of forecast capital positions and business scenarios
• Assisting business with large deals and ad hoc requests
