Roles & Responsibilities:
- Cost Negotiation: Conduct cost settlements with suppliers using Zero Base Costing (ZBC) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies.
- Commodity Monitoring: Perform monthly monitoring and analysis of commodity expenses.
- Price Amendments: Adjust raw material prices on a monthly, quarterly, or half-yearly basis.
- Supplier Assessment: Visit suppliers to evaluate their capabilities in cost drivers (labor skill matrix, electricity utilization, process control, raw material planning) and identify areas for improvement (rejection levels, efficiency matrix, workflow losses, shop floor management, waste elimination) to achieve cost-effective settlements.
- Expense Optimization: Optimize raw material and post-operation expenses.
- MHR Settlement: Negotiate Machine Hour Rates (MHR) with suppliers for processes such as pressing, CNC, VMC, and coating, ensuring competitive pricing.
- Spend Analysis: Conduct spend analysis to generate cost-saving ideas.
- Supplier Claims: Negotiate and settle supplier claims with thorough analysis.
Required Knowledge:
- Process Expertise: Understanding of drawing, forming processes, machining processes, and surface finishing processes, as well as rubber/injection molding and blow molding.
- Raw Material Grades: Knowledge of various raw material grades and current rates.
- Quality Systems: Familiarity with IATF 2016 system, and core tools like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in using AutoCAD and 3D software.
- Local Cost Insights: Awareness of location-specific labor rates and electricity charges, including detailed breakdowns.
- Productivity Enhancement: Knowledge of methodologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Commercial Techniques: Understanding of line balancing, KANBAN, JIT, and TQM techniques.
- Tax and Compliance: Knowledge of existing tax structures and legal compliance requirements.
Skills:
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities for effective costing and financial analysis.
- Presentation Skills: Proficient in presenting cost analyses and reports.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
