Reports To : BG Finance Costing Director
Description : The BG Costing Manager will lead the transformation and operational excellence of costing activities within the Seating Business Group. This role is pivotal in implementing new digital costing tools, standard costing methodology including lead and scale a high-performing costing team in India. He will be responsible for driving strategic alignment and collaboration across divisions and global stakeholders. The main missions of the role are to:
1. Strategic Leadership & Team Setup
- Establish and lead the BG Costing Center of Excellence in India.
- Accelarate the learning curve of existing team and new talent by faciltating & implementing a structured trainining program.
- Extend and develop a multidisciplinary costing team covering Metals, plastics, foams, covers, electronics, and packaging commodities and lead towards complete scope of Costing.
- Define governance, KPIs, and performance metrics for the India team aligned with global standards and expectations.
- Ensure operational governance of day to day Costing activiites for Acquisition, Program and serial life for full costing scope of Internal value add, BOP, tooling including CO2 assessment.
2. Costing Tool Implementation
- Drive the deployment of digital costing tools such as TcPCM ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Collaborate with IT and Divisional costing teams to develop, pilot, validate, and scale Cost Models and tool usage across all program phases.
3. Standard Costing Methodology, Cost Model Development and Benchmarking
- Drive the deployment of new Standard Costing methodology across the team in India and ensure compliance.
- Lead the development and optimization of cost models for Acquisition, Bought-Out Parts (BOP) and internal value-add components including Tooling scope.
- Define benchmark cost targets during acquisition and sourcing phases.
4. Reporting & Analysis
- Consolidate and report monthly gap-to-benchmark analyses, Costing coverages and evolutions against defined KPIs.
- Provide actionable insights to BG management and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities with advance data analytics, AI solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency in day to day activities.
- Support CO₂ emissions assessment and reporting.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Regular engagement and co-ordination with Divisional Costing teams, Product Lines, Purchasing teams and other stakeholders.
- Ensure participation in Global sourcing and purchasing steering committees.
- Facilitate bi-monthly reviews to align on operational issues, tool status, and strategic roadmap.
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in costing, purchasing, manufacturing or R&D within the automotive or industrial sector.
- Proven experience in team leadership and digital transformation projects.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
